Dr. Laura Jaitman is Head of International Affairs at the Ministry of the Treasury of Argentina. She is responsible for the representation of Argentina in international economic fora, and for international relations at the Treasury. She joined the Treasury in 2017 as G20 Finance Deputy to lead the Finance Track under the Argentine G20 Presidency. Previously she was an Economist at the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Her main areas of research are the economics of crime, development economics, and political economy. She has more than a decade of working experience at various international institutions like the World Bank, the IDB, and MIT J-PAL in the evaluation of public policies in different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Laura holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London, UK. Her work was published in international peer reviewed journals such as the Economic Journal, and the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, among others, and featured in international media.
